ADC Chieftain Accuses APC of Destabilizing Opposition

Adnan, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Nigerian government of plotting to destabilize the ADC amid a leadership crisis. In an interview with Daily Post, he described the crisis as a threat to democratic principles, stating it began when the national working committee of the ADC dissolved the previous leadership, leading to the emergence of new officials.

The situation escalated when a member of the dissolved committee submitted a resignation letter, which was later claimed to be invalid. Adnan alleged that external forces, particularly the APC, are attempting to weaken the ADC to secure an easier victory in the upcoming 2027 elections.

He expressed confidence that the judiciary would uphold democratic values and protect the rights of political parties. Adnan criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for overstepping its bounds regarding internal party matters and emphasized the importance of a strong opposition for democracy to thrive.
