APC Chieftain Urges Tinubu to Address Power Crisis

Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Osun State, has raised alarms regarding the deteriorating power supply across Nigeria.

In a statement made available to correspondents in Osogbo, Oyintiloye highlighted that the worsening situation undermines efforts to reform the country's power sector. He appealed to President Bola Tinubu for urgent intervention to address the hardships Nigerians are experiencing due to inadequate electricity supply.

Oyintiloye emphasized that the lack of reliable power affects both small-scale businesses and larger industrial operations, with many households unable to depend on even a few hours of electricity daily. He pointed out that the ongoing heat wave exacerbates living conditions for citizens.

Furthermore, he called for the establishment of a panel to investigate the recurring causes of national grid collapses and the persistent poor power supply, attributing the crisis to a combination of factors including gas supply challenges, weak transmission infrastructure, and chronic underinvestment in the power value chain.
