APC Chieftain Claims Internal Block to Governor's Defection

Aliyu Ilelah, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, revealed that certain members of the party are actively working against Governor Bala Mohammed's defection to the APC. Ilelah made these comments during a press conference on Wednesday, where he expressed surprise at the actions of a caucus led by Senator Samaila Dahuwa, which openly rejected the governor's admission into the party.

He described their stance as selfish and detrimental to the party's future, particularly with the 2027 elections approaching. Ilelah criticized the caucus for lacking moral authority, citing previous instances where members switched parties without proper consultation.

He warned that such actions could weaken the APC's chances in future elections and urged party members to support Governor Mohammed's move to join the APC, believing it would enhance the party's performance in Bauchi and nationwide. Ilelah also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's political strategy and called for unity within the party.
