APC Chieftain Stanlei Osifo Challenges Tinubu for Ticket

Stanlei Osifo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has publicly declared his intention to contest for the party's presidential ticket in the 2027 elections, challenging the current president, Bola Tinubu. Osifo made this announcement during a press conference held in Abuja on Monday.

He expressed his plan to purchase the party's nomination form, which costs 100 million Naira, and indicated his interest in formally entering the race ahead of the scheduled primaries on May 15-16, 2025. This declaration comes amid a growing consensus within the APC, where 22 governors have endorsed Tinubu as the sole candidate for the upcoming elections.

Osifo dismissed claims linking him to any anti-party activities and asserted his constitutional right to pursue the presidential ticket, emphasizing that endorsements do not automatically confer candidacy. He remains undeterred by the support for Tinubu within the party hierarchy and is committed to his campaign.
