APC Chieftain Stanlei Osifo Seeks Presidential Ticket

Stanlei Osifo, an unknown chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declared his intention to contest for the party's presidential ticket for the 2027 elections during a press conference in Abuja on Monday. He revealed plans to purchase the APC's nomination form, which costs 100 million Naira, ahead of the party's primaries scheduled for May 15, 2026.

This announcement comes amid reports of APC governors endorsing Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party's sole candidate for the upcoming presidential election. Osifo dismissed claims that he is being financially supported by Tinubu, asserting that his decision to run is based on personal conviction and not influenced by external sponsorship.

He emphasized that endorsements from party leaders and governors do not override constitutional provisions that guide candidate selection, allowing qualified aspirants to contest for the party ticket regardless of endorsements. The nomination form consists of a 30 million Naira expression of interest fee and a 70 million Naira nomination fee.
