INEC Confirms APC Received 121 Votes in Kwali Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted claims that the All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered 1,219 votes in the Kwali polling unit during the area council elections. Instead, INEC confirmed that the party received only 121 votes, despite there being 345 registered voters and 213 accredited voters.

The statement, signed by Aminu K. Idri, the FCT Resident Electoral Commissioner, described the initial claim as untrue and misleading.

Following an investigation into the allegations, INEC found discrepancies arising from entry errors in the presidential office's records. The commission emphasized that the official results uploaded from the polling unit clearly show the APC's actual vote count as 121, not the inflated figure circulating on social media.

INEC further asserted that its result management system is designed to prevent manipulation of election results.
