Jimbo Denies Allegations of Defecting to ADC

Clement Jimbo, a member of the House of Representatives for Abak, Etim Ekpo, and Ika Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State, has publicly refuted claims suggesting he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a statement issued by his media office on Friday, Jimbo described the allegations as false and politically motivated, urging the public to disregard them.

He emphasized his ongoing commitment to the APC, highlighting his active participation in party affairs, including leading a delegation to the state congress held at Uyo Township Stadium on March 3, 2026. The statement also challenged the authors of the allegations to provide evidence of any meetings with ADC officials, asserting that no such discussions have occurred.

Jimbo's media office reiterated his focus on strengthening APC structures in preparation for upcoming party activities, including the zonal congress scheduled for March 25 and the national convention on March 27-28 in Abuja.
