APC Governors Back Tinubu's Reforms, Address Security Issues

During a meeting held on Tuesday in Kebbi State, first-term governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expressed their backing for President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms aimed at stabilizing Nigeria's economy and restoring public finances. The communiqué, presented by Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, acknowledged the economic challenges facing the country and emphasized the necessity of ongoing reforms to attract investment and improve productivity for long-term growth.

The governors called for national unity and support for the implementation of these reforms. They also expressed deep concern over persistent insecurity, including terrorism, banditry, and violent crimes, urging the federal government to strengthen collaboration with security agencies and local communities to enhance safety.

Furthermore, the communiqué condemned the recent attacks on schools and the abduction of children, calling for intensified efforts to rescue victims and prosecute offenders. The governors also condemned xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa and urged South African authorities to protect foreign nationals.
