APC Forum Applauds Direct Primaries Adoption in Nasarawa

The APC Forum has praised Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and party leaders for their decision to adopt a direct primaries mode for selecting candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The Emerging Progress Leader Forum (EPLF) described this move as a bold step toward deepening democracy.

In a statement jointly signed by the forum's national coordinator, Barrister Johnson Prey Aganaba, and secretary, Alhaji Abdulkarim Ibrahim, the group commended the leadership of the party in Nasarawa for prioritizing the interests of grassroots members. The statement highlighted that adopting direct primaries would enhance internal democracy, allowing registered party members to participate directly in candidate selection rather than limiting the process to a few delegates.

The forum stressed that this system would strengthen party structure, build trust among members, and demonstrate a commitment to transparency and fairness. They urged stakeholders to ensure the implementation of the direct primaries system in a peaceful and transparent manner, emphasizing the importance of grassroots involvement for the success of this initiative.
