APC Governors Accused of Misusing FAAC Funds for Tinubu

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of diverting funds from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign for 2027. The ADC claims that approximately N800 billion, which was intended for public welfare and development, has been misappropriated.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi described this alleged action as "shameless, cruel, and criminal," emphasizing the unacceptable timing given the current economic hardships faced by millions of Nigerians, including rising food prices and worsening insecurity. The ADC criticized the APC governors for receiving increased allocations while failing to improve living conditions, with public hospitals poorly equipped, roads in bad condition, and schools underfunded.

The party argued that the funds, which should be used for infrastructure, salaries, healthcare, education, and social welfare, are being misused for political campaigns, thereby betraying public trust.
