ADC Accuses APC Governors of Diverting N800 Billion Funds

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a statement on Tuesday, accusing All Progressives Congress (APC) governors of diverting N800 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) to finance President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid. Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC's national publicity secretary, described the alleged diversion as "shameless, cruel, and criminal," confirming long-standing suspicions that public resources are being converted into political war chests for the 2027 elections.

The ADC claimed that the funds raised through FAAC allocations are being used for political purposes, while the Nigerian populace suffers from worsening living conditions, with increased poverty and underfunded public services. The party called for an independent investigation into the alleged diversion of funds and emphasized that no amount of political spending could restore the lost confidence of the people in the government.

The ADC criticized the APC governors for focusing on political ambitions despite the increased financial inflow to their states following subsidy removal and currency devaluation.
