APC Conducts Local Government Congresses Amid Violence

The All Progressives Congress (APC) held local government congresses across various states including Ondo, Gombe, Enugu, and Katsina, emphasizing a peaceful and consensual process. In Delta State, however, the congress faced violence when armed thugs attacked supporters of Erhiatak Ibori Suenu, a member of the House of Representatives.

The incident occurred at the Oghara Township Stadium, leading to gunfire and injuries, with one individual reportedly hospitalized. Despite this, the APC successfully conducted its congress across 25 council areas in Delta, with Keyamo commending the party members for their efforts to reelect President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027.

In Enugu, Governor Peter Mbah praised the peaceful conduct of the congress, while in Ondo, the exercise was described as transparent and driven by consensus. The congresses in Kwara and Edo also reported smooth proceedings, reinforcing the party's commitment to unity and democratic processes.
