APC Faces Challenges After Kwankwaso's Defection to ADC

Alwan Hassan, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that the party is facing significant challenges following the defection of former Kano Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). During an interview on Arise Television, Hassan noted that Kwankwaso's departure represents a substantial loss for the APC, particularly in the context of the upcoming 2023 elections.

He highlighted that the APC's viability is being questioned, especially after the recent exit of Governor Abba Yusuf from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), which had previously been criticized by members of the Kwankwasiyya movement. Hassan remarked that the timing of Kwankwaso's defection is crucial for the political landscape in Kano State, suggesting that it was made in the best interest of governance in the region.
