APC Launches Governing Council for Progress Institute

The All Progressives Congress (APC) inaugurated the governing council for its political think-tank, the Progress Institute (TPI), at the APC national secretariat in Abuja. The event, described by the APC national chairman, Professor Nentaw Goshw Yilwatda, as a significant milestone, aims to establish a world-class political foundation comparable to the best global democratic systems.

The inauguration marks the conclusion of the process to establish the governing structure of the TPI, which was unveiled on September 6, 2024. The institute is intended to deepen ideological clarity within the APC, strengthen research capacity, and promote issue-based politics across Nigeria.

Professor Yilwatda emphasized the importance of the TPI in driving governance reform and leadership development, ensuring evidence-based policymaking that enhances democratic governance. The TPI is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and has received approval from the Federal Ministry of Education.

Its core functions include research, public policy development, and organizing workshops and conferences, thereby serving as a platform for engagement between the APC and the wider Nigerian society.
