APC Sets Presidential Primary for May 25, 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a revised timetable for its upcoming presidential and governorship primaries as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. The presidential primary is set for May 25, 2026, while the governorship primary will take place on May 23, 2026.

Durosinmi Meseko, the party's deputy national publicity secretary, announced these dates during a meeting of the national working committee held at the party's secretariat. The timetable aligns with the regulations established by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC has already communicated this schedule to its state chapters, with the sale of nomination forms commencing on April 25, 2026. Candidates must submit their completed forms and accompanying documents by May 4, 2026.

Screening for aspirants is scheduled from May 6 to May 8, 2026, with subsequent screening for presidential aspirants on May 9, 2026. The appeal committee will address any appeals on May 12 and 13, 2026.
