APC Criticizes Otti for Naming Terminal After Oti

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned Governor Alex Otti for naming the new bus terminal in Umuahia the "Umuahia Central Bus Terminal" after Professor Nnenna Oti, who served as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer during the 2023 elections in Abia State. In a statement signed by Uch Aguoru, the Public Secretary of Abia APC, the party expressed that this decision sends a dangerous precedent and a wrong message regarding future electoral outcomes in Abia State, particularly concerning the 2027 elections.

The APC argued that naming the terminal after Professor Oti, whom they described as undeserving of such honor, could provoke division and embarrassment among the people of Abia State. The party concluded by urging Governor Otti to reconsider and reverse the naming of the project.
