APC Leaders Endorse Iyamu and Osawaru for Reps Tickets

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are supporting Dr. Paddy Iyamu and Hon. Billy Osawaru for the House of Representatives tickets in Edo ahead of the party primaries. Iyamu, a former Edo State Commissioner for Education, is the preferred candidate for the Oredo Federal Constituency, with significant grassroots support and a strong political network.

His candidacy has raised political tensions, particularly among supporters of his rival, Osaro Obaze. Meanwhile, Osawaru, who is seeking a second term, has received backing from top party leaders, despite facing competition from former Edo State Commissioner Washington Osifo.

Governor Mondai Okpebholo recently convened a strategic reconciliation meeting involving influential party figures to resolve support for Osawaru's re-election bid and avoid divisions in the primary contest. The APC leaders believe that retaining Osawaru will strengthen the party's stability and preserve existing political structures within the constituency.
