APC Leaders Reject Rival Claims in Agege Primary Election

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have dismissed rival claims surrounding the Agege primary election results, reaffirming that High Chief Ganiyu Egunjobi emerged as the winner of the APC primary for Agege Constituency 01. The primary election, held on Wednesday, was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across five wards in the constituency.

Egunjobi, the immediate past chairman of Agege Local Government, secured 9,132 votes, while former deputy council chairman Gbenga Michael Abiola finished third. A statement from Egunjobi's media aide, Rotimi Sulyman, emphasized the need for peace and integrity within the party.

Despite claims from Abiola and his supporters alleging that he won the election, APC leaders, including Alhaji Adaranijo, refuted these assertions, stating that Egunjobi's victory was legitimate and that the election was conducted without violence. The controversy has drawn attention to internal party dynamics and the need for unity among members.
