APC Sets High Nomination Fees for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed the nomination fees for the 2027 elections, with presidential aspirants required to pay N100 million and governorship aspirants N50 million. According to a two-page document released by the party's national organizing secretary, Sulaimon Arugungu, the fees for other positions include N30 million for presidential expression of interest, N10 million for governorship, N3 million for senatorial, and N1 million for House of Representatives aspirants.

The document outlines a timeline for the election activities, with the sale of forms commencing on April 25, 2026, and deadlines for submission set for May 4, 2026. Political analysts, including Omenazu Jackson and Prof.

Kamilu Fage, have criticized these fees, arguing that they favor wealthy individuals and undermine democratic participation, suggesting that such high costs make it difficult for ordinary Nigerians to contest elections.
