APC Sets May 2026 Primaries, N100m for Presidential Form

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the schedule for its presidential and governorship primaries, set for May 16 and May 23, 2026, respectively, as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. Felix Morka, the party's National Publicity Secretary, disclosed that the cost for the presidential nomination form is pegged at N100 million, while governorship aspirants will pay N50 million, senatorial aspirants N20 million, and House of Representatives aspirants N10 million.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed January 16, 2027, for the presidential and national assembly elections, with governorship and state house assembly polls scheduled for February 6, 2027. The APC will commence the sale of nomination forms from April 25 to May 2, 2026, with a submission deadline of May 4.

Screening for presidential aspirants is scheduled for May 6-8, with additional dates on May 12-13 for legislative positions. The party has also announced concessions for female aspirants, youth, and persons with disabilities, allowing them to pay 50% of the nomination fees.
