APC Urged to Strengthen Commitment to Loyal Members

The Bat Ideolog Group, convened by Bamidel Atoyebi, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to enhance its commitment to loyal members and prioritize grassroots support. Atoyebi emphasized the need for a structural shift away from elitist-driven candidate selection processes, which often lead to disconnection between leaders and the populace.

He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting greater grassroots participation and argued that the party's primaries should include thorough scrutiny to ensure capable individuals emerge. Atoyebi recounted visits to Tinubu's support group offices, revealing poor welfare conditions among loyal members.

He noted that many feel abandoned despite their loyalty, and urged the APC to address these issues to prevent opposition narratives from gaining traction. The group proposed the establishment of a dedicated department within the APC to focus on welfare and healthcare policies, aiming to strengthen the party's structure and support for grassroots members leading up to the 2031 elections.
