APC Chairman Critiques ADC's Self-Inflicted Crisis

During a media chat in Abuja on Wednesday, Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the internal crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as self-inflicted.

He emphasized that the APC under President Bola Tinubu is committed to democracy in Nigeria. The ADC is currently embroiled in a leadership split, resulting from multiple legal battles that have created uncertainty ahead of the 2027 elections.

This turmoil follows a decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to derecognize the ADC. David Mark, the ADC National Chairman, and Rauf Aregbesola, the National Secretary, are at the center of this conflict.

Yilwatda and Dr. Ajibola Basiru defended the APC's governance, countering allegations that the Tinubu administration is undermining opposition parties.

They highlighted the importance of adhering to legal frameworks in political affairs, cautioning opposition leaders against discrediting judicial institutions for personal gain.
