APC's Eta Dismisses Threat from Duke, Imoke Coalition

Christoph Eta, the newly elected chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, asserted that the coalition formed by former governors Donald Duke and Liyel Imoke, alongside other political figures, does not threaten the APC's dominance in the state. During an interaction with journalists in Calabar, Eta characterized the opposition as weak and virtually non-existent, downplaying any concerns regarding the electoral success of the emerging coalition, which includes the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He emphasized that the APC remains firm in its position within Cross River State, dismissing the notion that the combined political strength of notable politicians like Gershom Bassey and Usani Usani could impact the ruling party. Eta also denied allegations of internal crises within the ADC, asserting that the opposition's challenges are self-inflicted.

He welcomed vibrant political competition, viewing it as an opportunity to test ideas and programs against the APC's agenda.
