APC, PDP Must Prove They’re Not Terrorist Organisations – Falana

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has called on Nigeria's political parties, the APC and PDP, to prove they are not terrorist organizations following a recent Canadian court ruling. Falana criticized the parties for not taking legal action to clear their names and instead insulting the Canadian court.

He highlighted Nigeria's history of election rigging and political violence, which he believes validates the Canadian court's decision. Falana warned that the ruling could have international implications, affecting Nigerians linked to the APC and PDP seeking asylum or visas in countries like the US, UK, and France.

He urged the Nigerian government to act swiftly to address the situation and remove the stigma of terrorism from the ruling parties. Falana also criticized the government for applying the Terrorism Prevention Act to unarmed citizens protesting against hardship and bad governance, while politicians who embezzle public funds go unpunished.
