APC and PDP Clash Over Alleged Arrests of Opposition Members in Zamfara State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State are at odds over the reported arrests of opposition members. The APC, through its spokesman Yusuf Idri, accuses Governor Dauda Lawal of repeatedly deploying security personnel to arrest and intimidate their members as part of efforts to weaken the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

The APC expressed outrage over the arrest of its member, Bashir Gusau, a social media influencer. On the other hand, the PDP, represented by Haliru Andi, dismisses the allegations as false and baseless, asserting that the governor is focused on development and not victimizing opposition members.

The dispute highlights the political tensions in Zamfara State as both parties gear up for future elections.
