APC Reschedules Presidential and Governorship Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its presidential and governorship primaries, now scheduled for May 2026. The presidential primaries will take place on May 23, while the governorship primaries are set for May 21.

This decision was communicated by Duro Meseko, the party's deputy national public secretary, following a meeting of the national working committee. The party has adjusted its timeline to accommodate changes in the screening process for aspirants and the handling of appeals.

Nomination forms for various positions will be available from April 25 to May 2, 2026, with aspirants expected to submit completed forms by May 4. The screening process will follow shortly after, with results released by May 11.

Appeals regarding the screening process will be managed on May 12 and 13. Additionally, primaries for the House of Representatives are scheduled for May 15, Senate primaries on May 18, and state house assembly primaries on May 20, with presidential appeals concluding on May 25.
