APC Postpones Presidential and Governorship Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its presidential and governorship primaries, originally set for May 15 and 16, 2026, to May 23 and May 21, respectively. This decision was made during the party's 186th National Working Committee meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, following a review of the electoral timetable to ensure compliance with the Electoral Act 2026.

APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary Duro Meseko disclosed that the nomination forms will be available from April 25 to May 2, 2026, with the submission deadline on May 4. Screening for aspirants will occur from May 6 to May 9, and results will be published on May 11.

Appeals regarding the screening process will be handled on May 12 and 13. The presidential primaries will conclude on May 23, with an appeal process ending on May 25.

The APC will adopt a direct consensus option for candidate selection, allowing aspirants equal access to the nomination process.
