APC Aspirants in Plateau Reject Primary Results, Petition

Eight senatorial aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State have formally rejected the results of the recently concluded primaries, alleging irregularities and misconduct during the electoral process. The aspirants, including Senator Diket Plang, Ambassador Chris Giwa, Barrister Beatrice Gyang, Senator Istifanus Gyang, AVM Napoleon Bali (rtd), and Chief Ephraim Usman, submitted their petition to the APC state secretariat on Thursday.

They criticized the conduct of the primaries, describing it as lacking transparency and due process. The group claimed that elections in several areas across the state were either not conducted or were inconclusive, and that the results did not accurately reflect the actual membership strength of the party at the ward level.

They also alleged that party agents were sidelined during the process and denied copies of the results, which were circulated through unofficial channels. Despite these grievances, the aspirants reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC and urged the appeal committee to thoroughly review their complaints to ensure adherence to the party's electoral guidelines.
