APC Primaries: Irregularities and Shocking Defeats Unfold

The APC primaries held over the weekend faced allegations of irregularities and shocking defeats for incumbents. The primaries were conducted in 360 federal constituencies across Nigeria, with the process starting on Saturday.

Reports indicated that the primaries were initially scheduled for Friday but were postponed due to disagreements. In Katsina State, Ahm Sale Junior alleged conspiracy and was detained during the primaries, which produced Jamila Abdu as the winner.

However, he claimed that the process was manipulated, leading to his withdrawal from the race. Additionally, conflicting results emerged from Plateau State, where two candidates were declared winners for the same constituency.

Yusuf Adamu Gagdi was declared the winner by one official, while Dr. John Tongshinen was announced as the winner by another, leading to confusion and accusations of manufactured results.

The situation escalated with reports of violence, including the shooting of Sani Abdullahi at an election venue.
