APC Aspirants Petition Appeal Committee Over Primaries Flaws

Aggrieved aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State have submitted a petition to the Appeal Committee, detailing significant flaws in the recent primary elections. They claim that the senatorial primary elections were marred by manipulation, with allegations that voting processes were abruptly halted and results were inaccurately allocated.

Notably, Gyang Zi, a former aspirant for the Plateau North senatorial ticket, has withdrawn from the race and is demanding a refund of 20 million naira for the nomination form, 2 million naira for the state process fee, and 60 million naira for campaign expenses, alongside a 10 billion naira defamation claim. John Dafwan, representing Shendam, emphasized the lack of transparency and the absence of votes in certain areas, urging the APC to rectify these anomalies to prevent internal fractures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC Appeal Committee is expected to review the petition and recommend actions regarding the allegations.
