Gov Alia Wins APC Primaries in Benue State

Governor Alia of Benue State successfully secured his return ticket for the APC governorship in the direct primaries held in Makurdi, where he garnered 367,786 votes. He defeated his closest rival, Jeffrei Kuranun, who received 2,923 votes, and Terwas Orbund, who received 3,247 votes.

The results were announced by Kabir Isah, the chairman of the Benue APC governorship primary election committee, who described the exercise as peaceful and transparent. Following his victory, Governor Alia expressed appreciation to APC members and stakeholders, highlighting the overwhelming support and trust from the residents of the state.

He emphasized his commitment to consolidating security, sustaining infrastructural development, and prioritizing the welfare of the people. Alia also commended President Bola Tinubu and the APC national leadership for adopting the direct primary option, which allowed party members to freely choose their preferred candidates.

He called for unity among party members ahead of the general elections.
