APC Risks Loss in Benue with Alia as Gubernatorial Candidate

Alancha, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed concerns regarding the party's prospects in the upcoming Benue State gubernatorial election with Governor Hyacinth Alia as the candidate. During an appearance on a television program, Alancha stated that Alia is not popular and has failed to perform effectively in his role.

He urged the APC leadership to consider replacing Alia, arguing that the governor's management of the party has been poor, which could lead to a loss in the 2027 elections. Alancha highlighted that despite significant federal allocations amounting to 2 trillion naira, Alia has not delivered tangible results for the people of Benue.

He also accused Alia of disregarding directives from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding party appointments and ticket allocations. Alancha's remarks reflect a broader concern within the APC about Alia's ability to secure victory in the gubernatorial contest.
