Regina Akume Wins APC Ticket; Loyalists Face Defeats

In the recent APC primaries held in Benue State, Regina Akume secured the return ticket for the Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency. However, several loyalist senators and representatives faced defeats, including Emmanuel Udende and Gabriel Suswam.

The primaries adopted a direct option and were conducted on a Monday across three senatorial districts. Emmanuel Udende lost to former Governor Gabriel Suswam, who garnered 131,083 votes against Udende's 1,364.

In Zone B, Terseer Benjamin Aber was declared the winner with 93,412 votes, defeating Suswam, who received 2,763 votes. In Zone C, Dr.

Francis Agbo won the party's ticket with 58,760 votes, overcoming five opponents. The APC chairman, Benjamin Omal, commended the conduct of the elections and urged members to maintain faith in the party as they prepare for upcoming elections.
