Akinlayo Denies Sponsoring Thugs in Ekiti APC Primary

Davidson Akinlayo, representing Moba/Ilejemeji/Ido Osi Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, denied allegations of sponsoring hoodlums to disrupt the APC primary elections held on a Saturday in Ekiti State. He described the claims as politically motivated attempts by detractors to tarnish his image and discourage voter support.

Following the elections, the police arrested 11 suspects for political thuggery, with Akinlayo asserting that none were affiliated with his campaign. He stated that two individuals arrested at a hotel were not connected to his constituency and criticized the notion that he would engage in such activities.

Akinlayo emphasized his commitment to community service and fair competition in politics, asserting that he does not rely on intimidation or violence to secure votes. He called for a level playing field in the electoral process and expressed confidence in his support from the electorate, stating that he does not need to resort to underhanded tactics to win.
