APC Calls for ADC Deregistration Over Poor Performance

The Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Basiru, has formally requested the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He cited the ADC's inadequate electoral performance, having won no seats in the recent elections, including the FCT area council elections and state constituencies in Rivers and Kano.

Basiru described the ADC as a drain on national resources and pointed to ongoing internal disputes as a strong case for deregistration. He criticized the leadership of the ADC, particularly under former Senate President David Mark, for failing to address legal challenges and for their internal conflicts.

Basiru also dismissed allegations that the APC is attempting to weaken the ADC, asserting that the party should focus on resolving its internal issues instead of shifting blame. He noted that the ADC's leadership has not followed proper legal channels in seeking redress for their disputes, which has led to further complications.
