Ahmad Urges APC to Stop Defending INEC's Shortcomings

Bashir Ahmad, who served as a media aide to the former president, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop defending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in light of its shortcomings. Ahmad's remarks were made in a post following a confrontation between the electoral body and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The ADC has expressed concerns over INEC's controversial decision to suspend recognition of its leadership under David Mark. Ahmad emphasized that the APC's continued support for INEC's actions could fuel allegations that the electoral body is favoring the ruling party ahead of the upcoming general elections.

He stated that it is not true that the ADC's situation is dire, asserting that "heaven has not fallen" and urging the APC to reconsider its stance on INEC's handling of electoral matters.
