APC Postpones Governor Kefas' Defection Amid Internal Conflict

The APC in Taraba State has delayed Governor Kefas' defection to January 2026 following the kidnap of students in Kebbi State. The party's state chairman, Ibrahim Tukur, announced the postponement and sanctioned several ward executives for constitutional breaches.

The party nullified the suspension of lawmaker Abel Peter, penalized for alleged anti-party activities. Tukur also dismissed Atiku Abubakar's assertion of reclaiming Taraba for APC, stating the party already controls the Taraba Government House and has no intention of relinquishing it.
