APC Dominates Enugu Local Government Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a significant victory in the Enugu State local government elections, securing all 17 chairmanship positions and 260 councillorship seats. The results were officially declared by Professor Christian Ngwu, the Chairman and Chief Electoral Officer of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), following the final collation on Saturday.

The APC candidates were confirmed as winners in all contests across the state, marking a complete sweep of every local government area and electoral ward. In his remarks, Ngwu congratulated the successful candidates and emphasized that their victories should be viewed as a mandate to serve the community rather than merely an electoral success.

He urged the newly elected officials to prioritize the needs and welfare of residents in their local government areas. Ngwu also acknowledged the contributions of security agencies and other stakeholders in ensuring the election's smooth conduct, reaffirming ENSIEC's commitment to conducting credible, free, and fair local government elections in the state.
