APC Sweeps All Seats in Ebonyi Local Government Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a significant victory in the Ebonyi State local government elections, securing all 13 chairmanship positions and 171 councillorship seats. The results were announced by Patrick Enyi, Chairman of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC), at the commission's headquarters in Abakaliki.

Notable winners included Osborn Umahi, son of Minister of Works David Umahi, who was elected chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area. Other successful APC candidates included Peace Agwu in Ishielu, Paul Ituma in Ohaukwu, and Chidi Nwode in Ikwo, among others.

Enyi described the election as peaceful and free, commending the participation of residents and the support from security agencies. Following the announcement, Umahi expressed gratitude for the transparent conduct of the election and outlined his administration's focus on rural community improvement, youth empowerment, and agricultural transformation.

Stanley Okoro Emegha, the state APC chairman, stated that the party's performance reflects its growing influence in Ebonyi and positions it well for the 2027 general elections.
