Gombe Assembly Loses Opposition as PDP Lawmaker Defects

Hon. Yakubu Daniel, popularly known as Shetiman, representing Billiri East Constituency, has officially defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This move leaves the Gombe State legislature without any opposition presence. A statement issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director General of Press Affairs to the Governor, described Daniel's defection as part of a broader trend, following earlier moves by other opposition lawmakers to join the ruling party.

Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed strong support for Daniel's decision, highlighting the APC's commitment to fair inclusion and equal opportunity within the party. Daniel praised Yahaya's leadership style, which he described as transparent and accountable, and pledged his loyalty to the APC.

He expressed readiness to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Billiri East Constituency and the APC across Gombe State, indicating increasing confidence in the administration's policies and programs.
