Last PDP Lawmaker Defects to APC in Gombe State

Yakubu Daniel, representing the Billiri East Constituency in the Gombe State House of Assembly, has formally announced his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday. This move marks the exit of the last PDP lawmaker from the Gombe State House, further consolidating APC's dominance in the state legislature.

Daniel made the announcement during a visit to the Gombe Governor's House, accompanied by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the Speaker of the State Assembly. He cited the leadership style of Governor Yahaya as a key factor in his decision, which follows a series of earlier defections from the opposition.

Governor Yahaya welcomed Daniel's defection, viewing it as a sign of growing confidence in the APC-led administration and reflecting public trust in its policies. Daniel pledged loyalty to the APC and committed to strengthening the party's presence and support across Gombe State.
