Residents were denied voting by heavily armed thugs hired by NNPP- APC alleges

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) of hiring heavily armed thugs to disrupt the rerun election in Bagwai and Shanono Local Governments in Kano State. The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Atta, stated that the NNPP orchestrated the attack to prevent residents from voting.

The APC called for the cancellation of the election due to the violence caused by the hired thugs. Despite early warnings and security assurances, the armed thugs invaded polling units, intimidated voters, and hijacked sensitive election materials.

The Minister emphasized the importance of upholding democracy and ensuring a peaceful electoral process, urging residents to remain calm and calling for the prosecution of those responsible for the disruption. The incident highlights the need to safeguard election integrity and protect the democratic process for future generations.
