APC Youth Wing Launches Fellowship for Energy Reform

The All Progressives Congress (APC) youth wing launched the Energy Leadership Fellowship on Monday in Abuja, aimed at supporting President Bola Tinubu's renewable energy agenda. The fellowship, introduced by APC youth leader Dayo Israel, is designed to develop young professionals in Nigeria's energy sector and focuses on renewable energy, energy transition policies, and climate action leadership.

It seeks to create opportunities for young innovators to engage with policymakers and industry regulators. Israel announced a $17.5 million grant for the fellowship, which will support participants in developing and implementing innovative energy projects.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is involved in assisting the program. Nafisat Ovurebu, co-founder of Fosun Solar Energy Nigeria Limited, emphasized the challenges Nigeria faces in energy access, particularly in agriculture, and expressed optimism that the fellowship will equip young professionals with the knowledge and partnerships needed to strengthen the country's energy sector.
