APM Vice-Chairman Sues Over Bauchi Convention Validity

Musibau Olayiwola, the zonal vice-chairman of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), has initiated legal action at the Federal High Court in Ibadan against the party's national convention that took place in Bauchi. He is contesting the convention's validity and is requesting a fresh convention to allow his participation.

Additionally, 33 candidates from the APM's primary election for local government elections in Oyo State have also filed a suit to prevent the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) from overseeing any new primary elections, asserting they were duly elected. Olayiwola's suit, marked FHC/IB/CS/101/26, names several defendants, including Yusuff Mamman Dantalle, the national chairman, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The case was presented before Justice Uche Agomoh and is scheduled for hearing on September 21, 2026. Olayiwola argues that his exclusion from receiving nomination forms for ratification at the convention violates his rights as per the party's constitution and the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.
