Appeal Court Confirms Wole Oluyede as PDP Candidate

The Appeal Court has affirmed Wole Oluyede as the candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming Ekiti governorship election. This decision was made by a three-member panel led by Hon.

Justice Peter Chudi Obiorah, alongside Hon. Justice Jane Esienanwan Inyang and Hon.

Justice Peter O. Affen.

The court ruled that the PDP's primary election, conducted on November 8-9, 2025, was valid and complied with the party's constitution and the Electoral Act. This ruling set aside an earlier judgment from the Federal High Court in Ado Ekiti, which had nullified the primary election on January 13, 2026, due to claims of irregularities.

The PDP had appealed this decision, and the Appeal Court's ruling reinstates Oluyede as the party's candidate, affirming the legitimacy of the primary election process led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, who is part of the National Working Committee (NWC).
