Appeal Court Affirms Dasin as ADC Chairman in Adamawa

On Tuesday, the Appeal Court in Yola upheld the legitimacy of Barrister Ibrahim Sadiq Dasin as the chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State. The court, presided over by Hon.

Justice O. Adegbehingbe, granted the appeal against a prior ruling from the state high court, which had invalidated the party's congress and recognized Shehu Yohanna as the factional chairman.

The court ruled that the state high court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter, emphasizing that disputes regarding internal party leadership should be addressed in federal court. The judgment also criticized the lower court for compromising judicial processes and awarded N20 million in favor of the appellants against Shehu Yohanna.

The ADC's National Working Committee (NWC) supported the appeal, and Barrister Dasin expressed gratitude for the court's decision, urging party members to focus on upcoming elections.
