ADC Faction Demands INEC Remove David Mark from Portal

The faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Hon. Nafiu Bala Gomb has formally requested the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove Senator David Mark's name from its portal, asserting that the recognition of Mark's National Working Committee (NWC) is invalid based on a recent court judgment.

Gomb's statement, issued on Tuesday, emphasized the need for INEC to comply with the court's directive to withdraw recognition of the David Mark-led NWC. Additionally, the faction warned former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to cease presenting himself as the ADC's presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

They reiterated that Atiku Abubakar is not the legitimate candidate and demanded he refrain from using the party's name, logo, and emblem to avoid spreading misinformation. The faction has given a seven-day ultimatum for a public apology and threatened legal action if their demands are not met.

They also called on security agencies to take action against anyone disseminating false information that could incite public unrest.
