Apple Launches First Foldable iPhone Duo at Event

Apple unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, on Wednesday during a product event. The iPhone Duo features a foldable design with a 7.6-inch continuous display when fully unfolded and is touted as Apple's thinnest iPhone ever.

When folded, it resembles the size of a passport, with controls relocated to the right side for easier access. John Ternus, Apple’s new Chief Executive Officer, criticized existing foldable smartphones, stating they felt like “two phones awkwardly stuck together.” This launch was Ternus’ first product event as CEO after taking over from Tim Cook earlier in the month.

The iPhone Duo is expected to retail for over $2,000. Additionally, Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, starting at $1,199 and $1,299, respectively.

The iPhone 18 Pro features a variable-aperture camera and a new thermal management system. The event also showcased new AirPods and Apple Watch models, highlighting Ternus' vision for the company's future.
