Apple Lists iPhone 6s, SE as Obsolete, Raises Security Risks

Apple Inc. has issued a warning to iPhone users regarding the addition of several older models, including the iPhone 6s, iPhone SE (1st generation), and others, to its obsolete list. This classification means that Apple will no longer provide hardware repair services or software security updates for these devices.

Cybersecurity experts have expressed concerns that users of unsupported iPhones may face serious risks, as these devices will not receive security patches, making them vulnerable to cyberattacks, malware, and data breaches. The obsolete list now includes popular models such as the iPhone 3G, 4, 5, 6, and 6 Plus, among others.

Users are advised to check Apple's official support list to confirm their device's status and consider upgrading to newer models, as older devices may also experience performance declines and limited repair options. Apple has also expanded its vintage device category, which may receive limited updates but can be difficult to repair due to spare part availability.
