AICON Inducts 40 New Members, Urges Building Standards

The Architects, Artisans and Construction Managers Institute of Nigeria (AICON) inducted more than 40 new members and artisans in a ceremony held in Abuja. President Umar Garba addressed the inductees, highlighting that their admission marks a significant milestone in their professional careers and a chance to contribute to Nigeria’s construction industry.

He urged the new members to view their membership as a responsibility to maintain integrity, competence, and excellence. Garba called for the adoption of modern construction methods and emphasized the importance of safety and quality in all projects.

The ceremony included presentations from dignitaries such as Chima Wogu-Ogbonna, representing the Minister of Works and Housing, and Senator Adamu Aliero. They congratulated the inductees and stressed the necessity of high standards in construction, particularly in light of public concerns regarding building quality and safety.

The representatives advised the new members to prioritize quality over short-term financial gains and to continually upgrade their skills in line with industry best practices.
